FAQ

If you’ve never been to the MHF or even if you have we know you may have some questions. So here is our attempt to answer them!

If you don’t find it here make sure to check out our Contact Us page and send us you question.

Are Children allowed to attend the Festival?

Yes, Camp Agawam is a large township park with a lot to do for families and children, however there will be restrictions as to where children are allowed within the park during MHF. Please ask for details when you check in.

Are pets allowed at Camp Agawam during MHF?

Yes pets are allowed as long as they are leashed and the pet’s owner(s) clean up after it.

Are there other places to stay if I don’t want to or can’t camp?

Yes, there are two hotels within a short distance of the Festival.

Red Roof Inn & Suites Lake Orion/Auburn Hills – 4.2 miles away

SpringHill Suites by Marriott Detroit Auburn Hills – 6.8 miles away

Please contact the hotels directly for availability and rates.

We recommend that you either have a designated driver or use a mobility service such as Uber or Lyft to get to and from MHF from any off site locations.

PLEASE drink responsibly and don’t drink and drive.

I just paid for a membership. How do I get it?

There are no MHF membership cards or badges given out before the festival. When you arrive at MHF make sure to check so we can verify who you are and that you meet the minimum age requirements. Once you’re checked in you will receive your membership badge. The badge is required to be worn while attending MHF and visible for you to receive samples from other participating members/clubs.

Where can I find entry details, costs and deadlines to enter the Michigan Beer Cup?

Although the winners of the Michigan Beer Cup are announced at MHF the competition is run separately from the festival. All information regarding entry fees, dates, entry drop off for the Michigan Beer Cup can be found at http://www.michiganbeercup.com

Why do I need to become a member to attend the Festival?

Due to State laws homebrewed beverages such as beer, wine, cider and mead cannot be sold to, purchased or consumed by the general public however members of a “homebrew club” such as the MHF can share samples of their beverages with each other.

Will food be available for purchase during MHF?

There will be several MHF events revolving around food, from our Feast of Friday, Bar-B-Q competition and Beer Pairing Dinner. Details for those events can be found on our Events page. There will also be other food options available such as a food truck offering multiple food options. Details will be coming soon.
